Toledo Area Humane Society Welcomes Celebrity Chef Bill Yosses to Toledo
Toledo, OH – The Toledo Area Humane Society is gearing up for the 4th annual PawVillion event on Friday, September 23rd in Toledo. PawVillion guests will enjoy an amazing four-course meal prepared by former White House Pastry Chef Bill Yosses and Chef Scott Pierce, owner of Tree City Catering in Holland. While at the White House, Bill, also known as the “crustmaster,” created extravagant pastries, tended to the White House garden, and cooked for leaders of the world. In 2014, he left his position to pursue his passion for food education, and today, currently works for the New York City Department of Education to provide workshops to middle school teachers on STEM education. Also, in 2015, Bill started his own pie shop, Perfect Pies, which maintains a “green and sustainable ethos” as he creates his savory treats! Scott Pierce, of Tree City Catering, is a classically trained chef, one who has learned the components and technical skills required to prepare classic French cuisine. Scott supports our community by using as many ingredients from local growers as possible. The farm-to-table approach is apparent in the taste of his culinary creations. Together they have prepared a tantalizing menu that is sure to delight all of the guests at the 2016 PawVillion. The gala dinner is being hosted by Allan Block, Chairman of Block Communications Inc., and his wife Susan, at their home on Tantara Rd. in Toledo. Guests will have the opportunity to bid on three auction items selected specifically for the event: two different jewelry pieces from Harold Jaffe Jewelers and a luxury car lease package from Lexus of Toledo! We will also be raffling off a one-of-a-kind Baker O’Brien glass cat—tickets are $10 each or 5 tickets for $25 and will be available at our shelter, on our website, and at the PawVillion. Lastly, we will be asking our guests to “Raise the Paw” against animal cruelty in the hopes of matching a gift of $25,000 already generously donated by the Walter E. Terhune Memorial Fund. Reservations are $250 each and can be secured online at www.toledohumane.org/pawvillion or by calling 419-482-7110. Cocktail hour begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by a short welcome and seated dinner at 7:45 p.m. Dress is country club casual. Ladies are asked to wear flat or wedge shoes for the event. The event is presented by the Walter E. Terhune Memorial Fund, KeyBank, Trustee, Block Communications Inc., Buckeye Broadband, Buckeye Telesystem, and The Blade. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization we are committed to the welfare of animals by providing temporary shelter and care while seeking permanent homes. The Toledo Area Humane Society has served northwest Ohio for over 130 years and operates completely on donations and funds raised at our events. All proceeds benefit the animals of the Toledo Area Humane Society. Donations help us continue our mission of leading the community in efforts focused on relieving the suffering of, preventing cruelty to, and providing for the humane treatment of animals.
