ARTrageous Boutique and Sale Supports the Community

ARTrageous Boutique and Sale features local talent.

PRIZM Creative Community will hold The 2nd Annual ARTrageous Boutique and Sale on October 29th, from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. at the Way Public Library, 101 E. Indiana Ave. in Perrysburg. Works from over 30 local artists will be featured in booths and gallery displays, as well as a commission area for supplies, tools and collectibles. Get a start on your holiday shopping with quality goods from our Boutique section. Among the quality vendors are Eagle Glassworks, with fused glass ornaments and decor, Wendy Jenkins with hand pieced table runners, tote bags and quilts. For those looking for quality jewelry gifts, browse creations by Kristen Vasquez, Kate Argow, and Barbara Shoun. Amy Fell will be on hand selling her children’s books, and while Michele Paine is selling notecards, paintings and drawings. Larry Mack from Lars glass and David Kolasky don’t disappoint with hot blown glass. In addition the Way Gallery is stocked full of original art in all Medias by over 20 quality PRIZM members. Shop early for gift selection, and linger longer to browse the bargains in the new and gently used supplies including premium goods from favorite retail shops such as American Frame from Maumee.

There is still time to earn extra cash by participating as a commissioned seller or to make donations of new or gently used supplies, tools, and collectibles. A complete list of suggested items along with labels, inventory sheets and instructions is available on the homepage of the PRIZM website, www.MyPrizm.com or next to the suggestion box at Way Library close to the information desk. If you would like to arrange for pick-up of donated items or have questions please contact the chairman Amy Fell at 419- 885-8830, gregfell@bex.net.

The drop-off dates for items in the sale along with the inventory sheets of items will be accepted at Way Library on Thursday, October 27nd from 5pm to 8pm and Friday, October 28 from 10 am to 1 pm. Accepted items include Art Supplies, Creative Tools, and display equipment for Visual and Literary Arts, theatre, dance, culinary arts, photography and music. The suggested list of items to consider also includes Medias such as watercolor, oils, etc., or substrates such as canvas, and papers, or creative supplies such as fabric, yarn, florals, sculpture or jewelry making etc. Finishing supplies and equipment for potential sale could be matting, framing, polishing, equipment or items. Wood working tools, sculpture or ceramic tools, musical instruments, cameras, and many other items will be accepted for potential sale.

A library section of creative books may include techniques, color theory, and creative related subjects. Several area businesses will be represented with their signature products including American Frame from Maumee; Scrap for Art, in Maumee and Yarn Cravin from Perrysburg. The gallery area of the library will also feature original artworks, photography and artwork from outstanding local talent that has chosen to participate in the ARTrageous event.

Participants of ARTrageous can either donate their item(s) to support the non-profit cause or price their item(s),to sell and receive 50% of the sale price. Profits will be mailed the week following the sale. Participants can also designate whether they wish unsold items to be donated to charity, or whether they will pick them up immediately after the sale. (All unsold items must be picked up on Oct 29th between 2-3 p.m. or will otherwise it will be donated to charity. A $5 administration fee at time of application will be collected from all participants that are not donating all items and profits to the cause. A portion of the proceeds of the sale will benefit The Way Public Library and PRIZM Creative Community and their ongoing community exhibitions.
