T-Town Tassels Celebrate the Season with Tease-a-Plenty!
Toledo’s troupe serves up a cornucopia of burlesque
Toledo’s own sassy and classy burlesque troupe announced their fall show, Tease-a-Plenty. This burlesque extravaganza, to be held in the intimate Underground of the historic Collingwood Arts Center, offers show goers a veritable feast for the eyes and ears, including burlesque of all variety. Guest starring in this one-night-only, limited engagement show are familiar faces Leona Lustre, and Star Ridgefield.
“For us, burlesque is a celebration, and we always have something to celebrate. Fall is the season of tricks, of treats, and of thanks, and we have plenty of each to go around! With styles ranging from neo to classic to vocal, from sweet and sultry to plain outrageous, Tease-a-Plenty promises to live up to its name,” says performer Ruby Jade.
The T-Town Tassels have been teasing the glass city at the Collingwood Arts Center since July 2014. Founded by Barry Aslinger and Brandon Slomski, who sought to revive Toledo’s past burlesque scene, while boosting the confidence of performers. The troupe practices and preaches body positivity, encourages each member to be proud of who she is. In turn, the performers exude confidence, which is contagious to the audience.
The T-Town Tassels will deliver Tease-a-Plenty one night only, November 12, with shows at 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm at the Collingwood Art’s Center’s black box theatre, the Underground. Tickets can be purchased at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2666026 for $12; they are $15 at the door.
