"Ce the Light" Community Awareness Event
Standing Courageous, Inc. is hosting a community awareness event on December 1, 2016 from 4-8 PM. The event will be held at The Ward Pavilion at Wildwood Metro Park in Toledo, OH. The event will be called “Ce the Light”, in honor of Sierah Joughin. Our goal is to bring local communities together to bring awareness of the violence epidemic that is happening in the state of Ohio. We will have booths set up for local businesses to display their products and services. We will also have special keynote speakers at various times throughout the evening. The money that is raised through this event will be invested into our awareness and prevention training, including First Responder, Human Trafficking, and Violence in the Workplace trainings; and to the petition for a Violent Offender Registry. Standing Courageous, Inc. was founded on October 1, 2015, by domestic violence survivor Paula Walters. “We are a group of people committed to being a voice for those who are being kept silent or are no longer able to speak for themselves, such as Sierah” states Walters. Senator Cliff Hite will be on hand to give the public an update on the Violent Offender Registry Bill for Ohio and answer questions about its progress. This event is free and open to the public.
