Walleye Festival Offers Activities for Entire Family
Avid walleye anglers are invited to enjoy great fishing while competing for money and prizes at the upcoming Bass Pro Shops Rossford Walleye Roundup and Festival, the newest tournament to hit the Maumee River and Lake Erie. The two-day tournament scheduled for April 1-2, 2017, will be held at Bass Pro Shops and the Rossford marina. The tournament is open to all 2-person teams.
“We encourage fishermen to bring their families and enjoy a weekend of great walleye action, as well as the festival at Bass Pro Shop,” said Beth Genson, Director of the Rossford Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The festival will feature a variety of interactive activities for the entire family, as well as the family dog, which include:
• The Dog Days Family Event on Saturday from noon – 4 p.m., where families can bring their dogs for a variety of activities including dog care seminars and the Cutest Pet Costume Contest
• A variety of kids activities including a scavenger hunt, face painting, and a Kids Fishing Derby on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
• Sample a variety of food selections from area Food Truck vendors Big C’s BBQ, The Displaced Chef, and Kettle Corn
• Interactive outdoor recreation displays
The festival will take place at Bass Pro Shops on Saturday and Sunday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. It is free and open to the general public.
