Black Swamp Hosta Show "Rivers of Leaves"
The Black Swamp Hosta and Daylily Society is hosting an American Hosta Society Accredited Hosta Show on Sunday, June 18th. “Rivers of Leaves” will be held in the Terrace Room of the Conference Center at Toledo Botanical Garden, 5403 Elmer Street, Toledo, and opens for public viewing at 1 PM. The show is open to the public, and a copy of the show schedule is available from Charlene Patz by calling 419-874-8964. Show Chairman is Sarah DaPra with Phil Parsons serving as co-chair.
Entries will be received from 8:30- 10:30 AM and must remain in place until 4 PM. Judging will begin at 11 AM and the show will be closed. At 1 PM the show will open for public viewing and remain open until 4 PM. There is no admission fee for Toledo Botanical Garden or the show, and parking is free.
You will be able to see single mature hosta leaves in vases, mature hostas in containers, trough container gardens featuring mini hostas, and artistic floral arrangements. There will also be educational displays about hostas. A tour of the American Hosta Society national display hosta garden will be featured in the afternoon with members of the BSHDS available to answer your questions about hostas. Join us for a fun afternoon to learn more about one of our favorite perennials.
