TOLEDO, OH – The Toledo Symphony Orchestra is proud to announce ProMedica as the sponsor of its Classics Series. This sponsorship will go into effect immediately, covering the remainder of this performance season (2017-2018) and will continue through the (2018-2019) performance season, the Toledo Symphony’s 75 th anniversary season and Music Director Alain Trudel’s first full season with the orchestra. “The Symphony is a jewel whose musicians share their amazing talents with our community and ProMedica is proud to support its Classic Series. We look forward to a year of exciting and beautiful music!” said Randy Oostra, President & CEO of ProMedica. Over the years, ProMedica has demonstrated its remarkable commitment to the Toledo Symphony, becoming its largest institutional donor, and supporting great music in the Toledo community. It is fitting that the Toledo Symphony’s flagship series bear the ProMedica name, a name synonymous with philanthropic leadership and community engagement. This designation follows three high-profile and successful partnerships between the Toledo Symphony and ProMedica over the last eighteen months. In September 2016, ProMedica was the leading sponsor for the gala performance of Kristin Chenoweth with the Toledo Symphony. In June 2017, ProMedica sponsored the gala performance of one of the most celebrated opera singers of our time, Renée Fleming, in a sold out concert at the Peristyle. ProMedica’s successful partnership with the Toledo Symphony continued on in the inaugural season of ProMedica’s Summer Concert Series in the summer of 2017, with Crystal Bowersox & Caly Bevier, Steve Tyrell, and A Symphonic Tribute to the Music of Prince. “ProMedica has selected a wonderful time to become the first-ever Classics Series sponsor,” said Zak Vassar, President and CEO of the Toledo Symphony. ‘With every concert, the Toledo Symphony creates more excitement and momentum. We are attracting new audiences, embracing innovative thinking, and raising the standard for the performing arts in our area. These are exciting times at the Toledo Symphony, and we are grateful for ProMedica’s ongoing commitment and support.” The Toledo Symphony’s Classics Series consists of nine pairs of concerts featuring great classical masterworks, new music, world premieres, and more. The remaining concerts on the Classics Series for the 2017-2018 performance season include The Planets on February 2 & 3, Seven Deadly Sins on February 23 & 24, Symphonie Fantastique on March 23 & 24 with Music Director Alain Trudel, Classical Ellington on April 20 and 21, and the series finale of Mahler’s Titan on May 11 & 12 at the Toledo Museum of Art Peristyle Theater.
