12 Lourdes students to spend Spring Break in Louisiana
On Saturday, March 3, twelve Lourdes students, two employees and one alumnus depart for Thibodaux, Louisiana, for the annual Habitat for Humanity Spring Break Collegiate Challenge. The outreach project is made possible through the Lourdes University Department of Campus Ministry and the Linking Interest, Needs and Knowledge (LINK) student organization.
In the past 22 years, approximately 270 Lourdes students, faculty, staff and alumni have assisted 31 families build safe homes in 25 cities and 10 states. “As a Catholic and Franciscan university, Lourdes is dedicated to developing and sharing our gifts with the broader community,” says Campus Minister and alumna Laureen Knueven. Ms. Knueven, alumnus Tim Broud, and Assistant Professor of History Dwayne Beggs, Ph.D. are traveling to Louisiana with the students.

The students will depart on Saturday, March 3 at 6:30 a.m. from Russell Ebeid Hall at Lourdes University, 6832 Convent Blvd., in Sylvania.
The LINK-sponsored trip is open to students in good academic standing. The cost of this year’s trip is $400 per participant.
