Accomplished Seniors Complete Their Final Year at TSA
TSA Recognizes Strong Academic and Artistic Record of Sixteenth Graduating Class Toledo, OH — Ninety-one seniors are candidates for graduation from Toledo School for the Arts this spring. The ceremony will be held at the Valentine Theatre on Saturday, May 26. Students receiving diplomas are members of the sixteenth class to graduate from the school since it opened in 1999, and the talented and intelligent group represents TSA’s commitment to excellence. The class will celebrate many notable academic achievements, including thirty-four Annual Honor Roll and Senior Honor Awards. In addition, forty-nine seniors will receive Presidential Awards, and twenty-three students will receive honors diplomas. Students earned $3,805,260 in local and higher education scholarships this year, and college acceptances include institutions such as The University of Toledo, Bowling Green State University, Wright State University, the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Columbia College Chicago, Oberlin College and Conservatory, Point Park University, and Butler University. BGSU is a sponsor of TSA, and thirteen students declared BGSU as their college choice for next year. A number of seniors achieved distinctions in the arts this year. Terri Draper won the Toledo Lucas County Public Library Essay Scholarship. A team of four dancers won first place at the SkillsUSA Ohio contest, and Courtney Draper and Sara Kausch won Student Choreographer Awards at Ohio Dance. Cole Habekost participated in the Toledo Symphony Youth Orchestra Solo Competition, and Quentin Brown was a member of the OMEA All-State Band. Sir King Castro was a cast member in the OEDTA All-State Production. Zachary Miller was a Commercial Design winner in the 9th Congressional District Invitational Arts Exhibition and received an HCR ManorCare Award.
