Nationally Known Alumnae Return to St. John’s Jesuit

Marc Lautenbach ‘79, President and CEO of Pitney Bowes, and Jon Alexander, film industry visual effects artist with Lucasfilm Ltd., will speak to students on September 28 as part of the 2018 Alumni Speaker Series. Lautenbach, successful as the North America Managing Partner of IBM, brought his experience to struggling postal industry giant Pitney Bowes (PBI). Today, PBI has had consecutive periods of growth and profit and Lautenbach will share with students his business practices and explain how under his leadership the company is making a comeback. Lautenbach is scheduled to speak at 9 a.m. in the Chapel of St. John Berchmans. Alexander ’72, known most recently for his visual effects artistry in movies such as Star Wars Episode I, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Iron Man 2, and Avengers Age of Ultron, will speak to students about his career in movie-making and the skills needed to be relevant and successful in today’s competitive climate. He will speak at 1:15 p.m. in the Chapel of St. John Berchmans. Additionally, Alexander will be presenting at the Maumee Film Festival, which takes place September 28 - 29 at the Maumee Indoor Theater in Downtown Maumee (see website for details). The St. John’s Jesuit Alumni Speaker Series is designed to provide current students the opportunity to become inspired and motivated by Titans of the past. Lautenbach graduated from St. John’s Jesuit in 1979 and went on to earn his undergraduate degree from Denison University, as well as an MBA from Northwestern University. Alexander is a 1972 graduate. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Cinema from The Ohio State University in 1978.
