The Wolfe Gallery at Maumee Valley Country Day School is featuring EVAC Project: Experiencing Veterans and Artists Collaboration an art project that brings veterans and artists together. The exhibition will run from November 13, 2018 to January 11, 2019, weekdays 9:00am – 3:00pm.

A reception, free and open to the public, will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018, 5:30 - 7:00pm, in the Wolfe Gallery, on the campus of Maumee Valley Country Day School, 1715 S. Reynolds Rd, Toledo, Oh, 43614.

EVAC curators interviewed veterans about their experiences, and artists made an edition of prints based on their interpretation of those stories. The prints are exhibited with excerpts from the transcribed interviews. EVAC works to bridge the often precarious gap between military and civilian life. Participating artists are professionals from 23 states and 1 country outside of the US. They used a variety of printmaking techniques, including etching, seriography, relief, engraving, mezzotint and more.

Participating veterans included service from World War II through the Post 9/11 period, and all five branches of the military. Veterans told their stories once, but the experience spreads through time and space because of EVAC’s exhibitions.
