Jay Jay Brown, Owner of Permanent Skin Artistry in Toledo, along with tattoo artist Elijah Billian are inviting recovering addicts to the shop three times a week to share stories of hope, offer encouragement, give and get support, and explore the beauty of recovery with art. For Jay Jay, art has been an outlet of expression during his 2 years in recovery from alcohol and drug use. It has provided him both a means of living as well as a creative environment to converse, express, and reflect on his recovery. "Not only do I get to use my talents to help me channel my spirituality and emotions, I also help people create skin art that tells their own personal story," stated Jay Jay. On Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 10am starting July 17th, people will be able to tell their story of recovery at Permanent Skin Artistry. "The meetings will be what the attendees need them to be, we may be doing some fun sketching or art, or we may be lifting up a fallen friend with very serious conversation and guidance," said Jay Jay. "The goal is to help everyone find their focus during recovery. Visually, spiritually, and artistically should that suit them." The "Sober Life" meetings will be held at Permanent Skin Artistry at 3232 West Sylvania Ave in Toledo every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 10am. Follow the shop on Facebook for more info or call the shop at 419-474-9391.
