Screening of "If Beale Street Could Talk" at Way Library

Way Library’s contemporary film series, Show Me the Movie, continues on Tuesday, August 13 at 2:00 p.m. with the 2018 drama If Beale Street Could Talk.

Regina King won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role as the mother of Tish, a pregnant and newly engaged teenager whose fiancé Fonny has been arrested for a crime he did not commit.

This timeless story about ardent young lovers is set in early 1970s Harlem. When the couple’s dream of a beautiful future together is shattered, Fonny, Tish, and their families fight for justice and to prove that Fonny is innocent of the atrocious crime of which he is accused.

The film runs for 1 hour and 59 minutes and is for adults only. Seating is limited; first-come, first seated.
