Please join us at Trinity Episcopal Church on March 1, 2020 at 4PM for a special performance of Joan Chittister, Her story, my story, our story, written and performed by Arizona actress Teri Bays.

About the Play

A one-woman play and true story, Teri Bays, portrays two women: herself and a radical nun, overcoming adversity, domestic abuse and injustice.  Threads of their universal stories are woven around the strength and weakness of their mothers, their father's relationship with alcohol and an often unjust church.  Joan takes on the Vatican, inspiring women, including Teri, who works in the church. Eventually, through humor and heartbreak along the way, we discover how Teri and Joan are connected to one another.

Verde News quotes, "The play is, of course, about Sister Joan Chittister but it is also about all women and their relationships and challenges. Their lives highlight and contrast the issues of identity, and abuse, spirituality as well as life in the Catholic Church.  Bays weaves these themes like threads in a tapestry so we both relate to the characters while also feeling inspired by Chittister’s words and wisdom."
