The Lucas SWCD Tree Sale is Underway!
The Lucas Soil and Water Conservation District is accepting orders for the Annual Tree, Shrub, and Garden Sale now through Friday, March 26, 2021. This year’s sale features native hardwoods including Swamp White Oak, Sweetgum, Eastern Redbud and flowering shrubs like Northern Bayberry, Buttonbush, and Winterberry. Also available are evergreens like Norway Spruce and White Pine as well as a Backyard Habitat Packet, Fruit Tree Packet, and Native Seed Packets which contain seeds collected locally from the Oak Openings Region. The purpose of the Tree Sale is to offer landowners affordable access to native and conservation-grade trees, shrubs, and seeds that are beneficial to our local soil, water, and wildlife when added to the landscape. Whether it is replacing turf grass with native plants or planting a 100-foot long windbreak on a farm, we take pride in offering the trees and planting/maintenance information in order to be successful.
There are two ways to place an order: fill out the order form found in our Spring 2021 newsletter and mail it to our office along with payment; or place the order online through our website (LucasSWCD.org/treesale). All orders must be picked up at the Lucas County Fairgrounds on April 15, 2021 and April 16, 2021 between 9:00AM and 5:00PM. Delivery is not an option. For more information, please contact the office at (419) 893-1966.
