The New Fashion Preforms for Music at the Market

Music at the Market presented by Mercy Health will feature The New Fashioned, Thursday, August 5, from 7 to 8:30 p.m on the Commodore Schoolyard lawn, 140 East Indiana Avenue.  Concert goers are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket.  

 

The New Fashioned formed in 2013 and set themselves apart by bridging the music generation gap putting a new spin on music spanning the 1930's to the 50's.  Nine years later they continue to live up to their tag line, " a new take on classic, a classic take on new".  Founder of the band,  Jake Pilewski described the bands current direction.  "The band is continuing to stretch the music genre fabric just a bit further.  In the early days we focused primarily on songbook standards from the likes of 1930 through the '50's which resulted in a great foundation for tackling the sounds of southern rock, blues, soul, and folk rock of the 60's and 70's.  Our band members come from varying backgrounds, and we all offer unique perspectives to get our genre bending sound.   We have an original music library as well as a vast cover song library spanning 100 years.   Our goal is to become an experience of unity between the car radio, the juke box and dance floor. "   Band members include Tim Bauer, piano, rhythm guitar, harmonica and saxophone; Justin Fujka on drums, Mike Haskins, lead guitar; Petr Kharchenko, on bass guitar, and Jake Pilewski lead vocals and piano.
