Open House: Mothers' Center of Greater Toledo
The Mothers' Center of Greater Toledo is holding its annual fall open house on Thursday September 9th and Tuesday September 14th, 2021.
September 9th will feature two options: a morning in person gathering at 10am at the playground in Woodlands Park in Perrysburg and an evening online option via Zoom at 8:30pm. September 14th will be an in person meeting at 7pm at Panera Bread on Central Avenue and will be an exclusive meeting with our Executive Mommas group for a chance to discover our multiple faces. While the Executive Mommas group caters to working moms, all mothers are welcome to attend.
All interested mothers, parents or grandparents and children caregivers are invited to join the free event to learn about the organization. Mothers’ Center is a local nonprofit that brings mothers together for support, fun, friendship and more! From regular meetings to social activities to community involvement, Mothers’ Center is a group of everyday moms who want to connect with other mothers throughout the greater Toledo community. During the open house, attendees will meet members and have a chance to ask questions about the organization, its purpose, its benefits and how to join, as well as asking members how Mothers’ Center has helped them navigate motherhood. The group’s many features, including a babysitting co-op, an Executive mommas sub-group for professional mothers, social events, community outreach, buy nothing group and more will also be presented and discussed.
“I’m so excited that I found a community of like-minded mamas. Being brand new to motherhood, I was craving that connection to humans going through the exact same things. I just joined, but I already feel so welcomed and I’m excited to see the friendships that blossom out of this experience.”, says member Morgan. “I am so lucky to have found this group. I am not from the Toledo area and knew very few people before joining Mothers' Center. The moms in this group have become like a second family for me. The meetings are so fun and informative, the play dates are a nice break from day to day parenting, and the mom's nights (or days sometimes) out are a great break. I also love that this group is committed to giving back to the local area. I always feel more energized and ready to handle this crazy gig called parenting after connecting with this group for a bit.”, added Danielle.
The Mothers' Center of Greater Toledo was established in 1984 by mothers, for mothers and their families. The group meets regularly, to share common experiences, make new friends and enjoy the company of peers, or simply for a good round of Trivia. In addition to weekly meetings discussing topics of interest to parents and mothers, the group offers play-dates, an Executive Mommas group for working mothers, and many family activities. Due to Covid-19 we have had to adapt and are slowly but safely going back to a more normal life. Our Speaker program will continue to be held online while our activities will take place outdoors as much as possible. Our programming will also focus a little more on families with a new Saturday program twice a month to include all mothers and children. Outside of Open House, any prospective member is invited to attend one meeting or playdate for free before deciding to join the group.
