TOLEDO, OH - Kevin Spitler, partner of Toledo Hemp Center and Toledo’s very own homegrown hemp entrepreneur, is well known for his crafty ideas promoting the nutritional benefits of the hemp plant. The upcoming event is no different!
Mr Spitler has planned a hemp crust pizza party to help celebrate 4/20. 4/20 is a date notoriously celebrated by cannabis enthusiasts around the world. Why hemp crust though? Mr Spitler breaks it down; “Hemp seeds are one of the most nutritional seeds in the world. The amazing seed is packed with benefits including proteins, iron, calcium, manganese, magnesium, B-vitamins, Zinc and more. The popular seed is also rich in gamma linolenic acid (GLA), which has been linked to reduced symptoms of PMS and omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids making the seed great as a natural anti-inflammatory and heart health. The special pies are obviously a great source of daily nutritional benefits.``
Toledo Hemp Center will roll out the FREE hemp crust pizza party on 4/20/22 starting at “high noon." The popular locally owned hemp specialty business will plan to serve up 420 FREE slices of the special pies. During the hemp crust pizza party, Toledo Hemp Center (T.H.C) will be also holding its annual 4/20 sale where customers can save big on hemp based products throughout the center. Asked what the buzz with hemp pizzas was all about, Mr Spitler enforces “Hemp Pizzas will NOT get you high.” Asked why would people want to eat hemp, if they cannot get high, he emphatically replied “Nutrition!” Spitler proudly clarifies that hemp flour is simply ground up hemp seeds.
Back in 2017 Mr Spitler networked with Pizza Cat, a locally owned pizzeria (owned by Matt Wojtowics)and created the first hemp crust pizza in the world. The popular hemp pies are now commercially available at the locally famous pizza joint. Mr Wojtowics mentions “It seems Mr Spitler’s visions of commercially prepared hemp food products continue to bloom.” Mr Spitler also inspired a hemp infused bratwurst deemed “potwurst” and is available full time at Frobose Meat Locker located in Pemberville OH. Mr Wojtowics adds “Consumer demand for edible hemp products is very high and continues to grow."
