Cartooning and Comic Strip Camp 7/13/22-7/15/22
Lourdes University art student and published cartoonist, Megan "The Cartoonist" Jurek, teaches the basics of cartooning and comic strip creation for kids. This 3 summer camp night class includes some introductory drawing lessons, as well as the concepts of storytelling and humor that are involved in creating comic strips and comic books. The instructor will also cover the concepts of speech bubbles, sound effects and the use of panels to tell the joke or story. Students do not need to have taken the June 11th Cartoon and Comic one day class to enroll. Classtime: 6pm-7pm. All supplies provided. Ages 8 & up.
Day 1- Beginning introduction to cartooning and comic strip.
Day 2-Students learn to draw well-known comic/cartoon characters that they'd like to see in a comic strip or book.
Day 3-Students come prepared with a joke or story idea that they illustrate in comic strip form with guidance from the instructor.
