TPS Local History Lecture Series

Our TPS Lecture series continues on Thursday, September 8 at 7:00 PM at Rogers High School, 222 McTigue Drive, featuring Peter Navare, Toledo’s Original Celebrity, by local author and historian Larry Michaels.

Considered the first citizen of the East Side, Peter Navarre, settled the land east of the Maumee River in 1807.  During the War of 1812, Navarre acted as a scout for the American army providing intelligence about enemy strength and locations. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the City of Toledo declaring September 9th an official city holiday. Join us to learn more about this important Toledo pioneer.

All lectures are free and open to the public with plenty of parking at Rogers.
