YWCA Milestones: A Tribute to Women New Category

TOLEDO, OHIO-YWCA of Northwest Ohio is hosting the 28th Annual Milestones Event: A Tribute to Women. In addition to the traditional seven categories, YWCA is adding a new category this year called “Women on the Rise.” This award will be presented to leaders in our community who encompass the YWCA’s mission of eliminating racism and empowering women.
The Milestones Awards Event was established in 1996 to recognize women of Northwest Ohio who have demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities and who, through their efforts and accomplishments, have opened doors for other women to achieve their potential. YWCA of NWO added a new category this year called, “Women on the Rise” to recognize 3 outstanding young women who are making an impact early in their career, while developing their potential to become a transformative leader in our community. One honoree will be chosen based on their current service with the YW. Two honorees will be selected based on their community involvement that aligns with the YWCA's mission. Nominees must live or work in Northwest Ohio, demonstrate outstanding achievement or distinction in career and community work, and exhibit leadership qualities. Criteria for selection include: unique, exemplary achievements in her field, serves as a role model for women in the community, and lives a life consistent with the YWCA mission. The proceeds from the YWCA Milestones will benefit 29,000 local women and families who utilize the programming of the YWCA.
“I am excited about this new category this year as it will empower young women in our community to strive to be the best leaders they can be,” said Mindi Marshall. “If you know a young woman who is a rising leader in the Toledo area, please nominate them for this prestigious award!”
Milestone: A Tribute to Women will be held at the Glass City Center Ballroom on Thursday March 30, 2023. Networking will be encouraged beginning at 11:30am, the program will begin at 12:00pm and the event will conclude at 1:30pm.
