The 28th YWCA Annual Milestones Event: A Tribute to Women nominations deadline has been extended to November 10, 2022. YWCA Northwest Ohio has commemorated Women’s History Month by recognizing leaders throughout various professional industries and areas of activism and advocacy. The proceeds from the YWCA Milestones will benefit 29,000 local women and families who utilize the programming of the YWCA.
Nominees must live or work in Northwest Ohio, demonstrate outstanding achievement or distinction in career and community work, and exhibit leadership qualities. Nominations can come from family members, friends, superiors or co-workers. They are honored for outstanding accomplishments and contributions in the following eight areas: Arts, Business, Education, Government, Sciences, Social Services, Volunteerism and NEW: Women on the Rise. Their new category “Women On The Rise”, will recognize 3 outstanding young women who are making an impact early in their career, while developing their potential to become a transformative leader in our community. One honoree will be chosen based on their current service with the YW. Two honorees will be selected based on their community involvement that aligns with the YWCA's mission.
“If you know a woman who lives or works in Northwest Ohio, please nominate her,” said Mindi Marshall. “The women in our area deserve to be recognized for their outstanding achievements.”
Milestone: A Tribute to Women award luncheon will be held at the Glass City Center Ballroom on Thursday March 30, 2023. The Milestones selection committee will notify the selected honorees personally. Notification of non-selected nominees will be sent via email to the nominator.
