Toledo Hemp Center and Area Businesses Team Up To Begin "Sock It To The Homeless" Sock Collection For Toledo Homeless

TOLEDO- NW Ohio is known for its winters, which can contain bone chilling temperatures that sometimes dip below the zero mark. With this type of weather the area homeless are the ones who will suffer the most. Accessibility to warm clothing is critical at this point.
Toledo Hemp Center, known for its continued community involvement with its water collections, community cookouts and more, has once again stepped up to the plate. To help the area homeless keep their feet warm during the cold months the popular hemp business has teamed up with various area compassionate businesses in Ohio and Michigan to begin its “Sock it to the homeless problem” sock collection drive.
The Toledo Hemp Center sock collection which started November 1st will continue through the winter months with December 18 and January 22 (11:30am - 12:30pm) being designated as distribution dates. On the distribution dates the socks collected will be delivered to the homeless directly. To accomplish this, the hemp store has networked with 419 Cares, a local organization whose mission is to make life easier for those living on the street or in poverty by giving them their life basics. 419 Cares sets up in downtown Toledo at Green Space Park located at 1904 Madison and distributes items to help the homeless and those less fortunate on a weekly basis. Toledo Hemp Center owner Kevin Spitler says “Working with 419 Cares will allow us to get the items collected directly to those in need.”
Toledo Hemp Center is also working with the Christmas Crux 2022 benefit as a designated site for the toy collection. Collected toys will benefit the children at the Toledo Children's Hospital and continue until December 23rd 2022.
