TOLEDO - Every year during the brutal winters Toledo local resident Brad McClure jumps in his 2007 Ram 2500 and plows area Veterans’ properties for FREE as a way to give back to those who have served our country.
On November 4th with the cool weather approaching Mr McClure was getting his truck ready to drop his plow and push some snow. Problem is he has dropped his plow for another reason. On the same day Mr McClure was driving down airport hwy where he was hit head on by another vehicle driving down the wrong lane. The accident which was caught on his dash cam shows the other driver driving down the road the wrong way. The young man who hit Mr McClure had no insurance and was driving under a suspended license, Mr McClure was fully covered.
The accident ultimately totaled the vehicle leaving the vehicle undrivable, hindering his ability to plow any upcoming snow this winter. With the other driver not having insurance Mr McClure’s insurance company was left picking up the tab coming up short on what was needed to pay the totalled vehicle off from the dealership. Mr McClue explains “After the deductible my insurance company will only cover $5,500 in damages. I still owe $7,500 on the plow truck.” He continues “I then need the money to put down on a new truck that the specific plow kit fits on. A Dodge Ram 2500. The plow kit doesn't fit just any truck.”
Since the accident Mr McClure has had major knee surgery due to the accident hindering him even more in his search for a new vehicle.
