SPRING INTO SWING - A party to benefit the Dyslexia Education Training Center
Dyslexia is a condition that cannot be cured – but with proper help, it can be overcome. The Dyslexia Education Training Center (formerly the 32° Masonic Learning Center for Children) provides that help for students from Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. The center is currently located at Coy Elementary School in Oregon, Ohio (formerly at Union School in Maumee), where students receive individual instruction to learn the skills necessary to overcome their condition. The success rate is close to 100%.
A party to benefit the Dyslexia Education Training Center – “SPRING INTO SWING” – will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at the Events Center of the Maumee Bay Brewing Company, 201 Morris Street in downtown Toledo. Doors open at 4 PM, with live jazz by Ragtime Rick and the Chefs of Dixieland starting at 5 PM. A cup of Ragtime Rick's Famous Red Light Chili is included with each ticket (while supplies last). Full bar service, including craft beers from the Maumee Bay Brewing Company, will be available.
Admission tickets are only $10.00 and include entry in a raffle. The Grand Prizes include a $1000 VISA Gift Card, a lamb leather jacket from Roth Coats & Accessories ($900 value), a Diamond Love-Knot Necklace ($799 value), a $500 VISA Gift Card, a Queen-Size Quilt ($500 value) custom-sewn by Elaine Corfield Reib (who herself is coping with dyslexia), and a Gold Membership to Expresso Car Wash ($480 value). Door Prizes will be awarded during the event for those attending, but winners need not be present to win Grand Prizes. (Grand Prize drawings begin at 7:30 PM.)
