Local Ties to National Cancer Survivors Day Celebration: Victory Center honoring NW Ohio survivors

Hope Grows Here: Sunday, June 4 marks 36th Annual national holiday

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Victory Center is celebrating cancer survivors of all kinds with a special party just for them! June 4 marks the 36th Annual National Cancer Survivors Day. The National Cancer Survivors Day Foundation, Inc calls it, “A celebration for those who have survived, an inspiration for those recently diagnosed, a gathering of support for families, and an outreach to the community.

Every year, The Victory Center uses the national platform to built on the growth and development happening here in northwest Ohio. This Spring’s festivities will feature games, raffles, giveaways, arts & crafts, food, and live music. A welcoming atmosphere makes it the perfect gathering place for cancer survivors and their families.

Live music will be performed by local musician Aaron Konwinski.

The Victory Center’s Executive Director, Dianne Barndt, looks forward to this event every year. “We have selected Hope Grows Here for our theme this year.” Continues Barndt, “it’s not just a fun, botanical theme… the idea that hope can be found in the friendships and connections that form here ultimately reflects the mission of The Victory Center; No one should have to face cancer alone.”

The Victory Center was founded in 1996 to support and educate cancer patients and those closest to them by providing programs and services aimed at meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those touched by cancer. Services are provided at no cost to patients, and all donations are fully tax deductible.
