Djobi Ensemble 'Wake Up Spirit' Fundraiser-Performance & Dinner/African Drumming

The Djobi Ensemble play original and authentic music from West Africa bringing the dance right out of your soul. The ensemble’s high-energy performances captivates the audiences to their feet with songs to sing, and dance. People say they bring drumming to a whole new level here in the US. They play music from Ivory Coast and the village of Bangofla and original composition written here from Kimberly Djo Bi. The African authentic mask dances such as Zaouli, Boloye and more are played. They play with Djembes, dun duns, balafon, and other traditional instruments and sometimes with dancers. Emmanuel Djo Bi, the lead drummer is native to Ivory Coast, Africa. Kimberly Djo Bi is a native from Toledo who has travelled to Africa many times and learned under many master drummers.

Some people may remember us from Michigan Renassiance in Holly, Michigan.  This show will have an authentic Zaouli Mask Dance and more beautful cultural art that Djobi Ensemble bring with their amazing talent. 

With the Touch of Magic show, we would like to share some of our original compositions and authentic Africa music from the village of Bangofla, Ivory Coast Africa.  

We have some West African food and we will have some other choices for people. We discuss our goals and the details on where we are going with our Ensemble. We will also perform. 

After the performance from the fundraiser, we will offer a  Djobi drum circle. Bring your djembe drum, shaker, and your dance.
