Wednesday at Woodlands Concert Series Presents Barile and May

Wednesday at Woodlands continues Wednesday, August 9 at 12:00 noon with the popular duo, Barile and May.  The lunchtime concerts take place in the Woodlands Park shelter area, 429 East Boundary Street, Perrysburg.  Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair or a packed lunch and sit at one of the many picnic tables in and around the shelter area in both the sun and shade.  

 

 Barile and May are a talented musical duo with a long history in the Toledo music scene.  Their performances are characterized by a perfect blend of musicianship and humor. Together their combined talents enable them to perform a broad array of favorite tunes that appeal to people of all ages. 

 

 

 Over the past five decades Bobby May has become a beloved community treasure, and his impact is reflected in original songs written about him.  Two notable songs inspired by Bobby May are Gray Haired Rock Star, by Chrystal Bowersox, and Mr. May by Tim Oehlers.  These touching songs serve as testaments to his significance and influence in the local music community.  John Barile, the other half of the duo, is an accomplished musician who showcases his versatility by playing an impressive array of 22 different instruments.  His mastery as a multi-instrumentalist, which includes the Native American pan flute adds a unique and captivating dimension to his performances.   

 

Beyond their own musical achievements, Barile and May have been committed mentors to numerous up-and-coming musicians in the area, always extending their helping hand to nurture new talents.  This has contributed to the growth and vibrancy of the local music scene.  Their enduring partnership, combined with their exceptional musicianship and genuine connection with their audience, has solidified them as cherished icons in the Toledo music community.
