“So, What Are Going To Do With Your Art Collection?”
Free public workshop for collectors is part of TFAS professional development series
Toledo, OH—August 4, 2023. On Saturday, August 12 at 2 p.m., Toledo Federation of Art Societies (TFAS) will offer a “tips & tricks” workshop about how to manage a growing art collection—and how to deaccession artworks. The workshop is part of a series of arts-centered programs for area artists and the public, presented by member-organizations and independent member artists of TFAS.
“So, What Are Going To Do With Your Art Collection?” is designed for those who have inherited an art collection and are unsure of what to keep or sell (or how), as well as for those who have been building a collection over time and want to be sure it is valued by their heirs.
This workshop and Q&A session will be presented by Condessa Croninger and Eric Hillenbrand, co-owners of 20 North Gallery, Toledo’s oldest independent gallery. Croninger is also the current president of TFAS. 20 North Gallery is a proud member-organization of TFAS.
They will share insights on their 30 years of being asked about this subject—with practical strategies for maintaining value and deaccessioning legacy treasures. Topics include: How do I know what I have? (Should I sell it or keep it?); Researching artists & Researching values; Venues and techniques for deaccessioning; How to catalog a collection and maintain provenance.
Please note: This is a strategy-building session only – 20 North Gallery does not buy art or offer appraisals and no value assessments will be provided for participants’ personal collections.
This free event is open to the public: Pre-registration is recommended, via the TFAS website: www.TFAS100.org/TFAS-calendar
Toledo Federation of Art Societies (TFAS) was established in 1917 with the mission to unite area arts organizations, promote area artists, and maintain a permanent collection of Toledo area artists’ work.
