Nashville Nights Murder Mystery
Located in the heart of downtown, the University is today surrounded by lovely old mansions that were once great country estates, which has become an increasingly big problem. Quite simply, the University has no room to expand its facilities without first buying and then destroying these treasured family homes. Needing to increase its medical research wing, the University’s latest property venture has ended in tragedy for a 75-year-old widow, Fannie Mae Bond. She repeatedly ignored increased offers from the University to purchase her property, the once grand Bedside Manor. When she rejected the last offer of $3 million, her children attempted to have her declared legally incompetent, a case that has enthralled the local media.
Presiding Judge Iva Hatchet, herself nearing retirement, last month dismissed the allegations as unfounded. Three days later however, it was reported that Fannie Mae had died in her sleep … or so we thought, until the coroner discovered feathers in her throat, a clear indication she had been murdered, smothered with her own pillow.
