THEY WALKED HERE BEFORE US: 21st Annual Woodland Indian Celebration
The 21st Annual Woodland Indian Celebration “They Walked Here Before Us” will be held on Saturday, September 23 and Sunday, September 24th, 2023, at Seven Eagles Historical Education Center at 16486 Wapakoneta Road in Grand Rapids, Ohio. Gates open at 10:00am both days until dusk on Saturday and 5:00pm on Sunday.
Come enjoy two wonderful days of the Native American Culture in Arts, Crafts, Dance, Food, Games, History, Music, Friendship and MORE! Be a part of this Harvest Festival of the Eastern Woodland American Indians of the Northeast and Great Lakes.
The Grand Entry will begin at 12:30pm on Saturday and 1:00pm on Sunday. Entertainment will feature: Multiple Award Winning Native American Flutist, Douglas Blue Feather, (Cherokee) of Springboro, OH; Drummers: Gray Cloud Singers from Pennsylvania, the
Southern Singers from Ohio, and the South-Eastern Water Spider of Ohio.
The event has been listed as one of the Top 20 Great Escapes: Weekends Worth Having in the State of Ohio by Cincinnati Magazine and has been listed as a State of Ohio Top Event by The Ohio Arts Council, The Ohio Humanities Council and The Toledo Blade.
Admission fee is: $5.00 adults, $3.00 senior citizens 60+, $2.00 children 5-11, and children 4 and under are free. This event is sponsored by the Black Swamp Intertribal Foundation and Seven Eagles Historical Education Center. Seven Eagles is owned and operated by the Arts Council Lake Erie West.
