Free Caregiver Education on Dementia Behaviors
Toledo, Ohio, September 18, 2023 — MemoryLane Care Services is hosting a free educational program, “Behaviors: What is the Person with Dementia Trying to Communicate?” Cognitive decline and memory loss are common symptoms associated with dementia. Adults living with dementia can also express a range of behaviors, some of which can be distressing to the person with dementia and their caregivers.
“It’s important to understand that many behaviors, such as agitation, aggression, wandering, and repetitive speech can communicate underlying needs or issues,” said Cheryl Conley, MA, LSW, social services director at MemoryLane. “If someone with dementia begins wandering, it could be a sign that the person needs stimulation, exercise, or even companionship.”
What: Behaviors: What is the Person with Dementia Trying to Communicate?
When: Wednesday, September 20 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Where: MemoryLane Care Services, Yark Family Conference Room
2500 N. Reynolds Road, Toledo, OH 43516
