What:  20 Under 40 Leadership Recognition Awards

Place:  Valentine Theatre

Honoring young leaders under the age of forty for the 28th year, sponsors of the 20 Under 40 Leadership Recognition Program will host the in-person event at The Valentine Theatre on Tuesday, October 24.  All 153 candidates are listed on the website at 20under40toledo.com.

The Awards event, including a networking reception, is open to the public.  Tickets can be purchased online at 20under40toledo.com through October 16. Tickets purchased at the door will be $45. The reception begins at 5:45 p.m. in the Valentine lobby with the program to follow at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.

Buckeye Broadband will air the program this year on BCAN 109/609 at 7 p.m. Streaming information will be available on October 24 at 20under40toledo.com.

Special guests will be alumni celebrating 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 year anniversaries who will present award plaques to this year’s honorees. With the addition of the 2023 awardees, alumni will total 560.  A complete list of alumni can be found at 20under40toledo.com. For the 28th consecutive year, Chrys Peterson, former WTOL news anchor, will serve as master of ceremonies.

An independent panel selected twenty candidates for recognition. The 20 Under 40 program focuses on the accomplishments of individuals under the age of forty who have distinguished themselves in their career and/or as a volunteer in the community. The program is intended to further motivate young leaders in our area. Award recipients are not announced in advance of the program.

The sponsors of 20 Under 40 extend a huge thank you to nominators and encourage others to help continue this tradition by nominating successful young people from our area. Nominations for the 2024 program will open on October 25 at 20under40toledo.com.

Program sponsors include Eastman & Smith, Fifth Third Bank, Plante Moran, The Andersons, The University of Toledo, and Dana Incorporated. Partners include Buckeye Broadband, Media Partner; Leadership Toledo, Community Partner; and Telex Communications, Inc., Founding Partner. UlrichPinciotti and THREAD Marketing Group serve as Creative Partners. Supporting community organizations include EPIC Toledo, Imagination Station, The Toledo Repertoire Theatre, The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library, Toledo Alliance for the Performing Arts, Toledo Museum of Art, Toledo Opera, Toledo Rotary, Toledo Zoo, and the Valentine Theatre. These community organizations provide tickets/discounts/gifts to candidates and/or recipients.
