"Joel Fremion: Fabric of the Midwest" Art Exhibit and Public Reception
20 North Gallery to open “Joel Fremion: Fabric of the Midwest”
Exhibit to feature fabric collages by Crosby Festival award winner
Toledo, OH—October 9, 2023. On October 20, 2023, 20 North Gallery will open “Joel Fremion: Fabric of the Midwest,” a solo exhibition of unique and intricate fabric collages by Indiana-based artist Joel A. Fremion. The exhibit will include portraits, still life and midwestern landscapes, including two brand-new Downtown Toledo scenes. An example of his commissioned artwork will also be on view.
20 North Gallery and the artist will welcome friends and collectors at the free Public Reception on Friday, October 20, 2023 from 6 – 9 p.m., featuring a light tapas buffet and cash bar by Venue. The exhibition will continue through December 23, 2023.
With a background in painting, architecture and interior design, Fremion has developed his own tactile technique of combining fabric, leather and paint into remarkable fine artworks that capture the spirit and culture of our region. His innovative compositions of varied fiber media and use of applied color create complex “Fabric Paintings” that truly must be seen to be believed. Best appreciated in person, Fremion’s fabric collage artworks have a surface quality that is impressively sculptural.
The Fort Wayne, Indiana artist is a frequent exhibitor in the much-loved, annual Crosby Festival of the Arts at Toledo Botanical Garden (Ohio), at which he was awarded Best of Show in 2021. 20 North Gallery is excited to welcome Joel A. Fremion for his Toledo solo exhibition.
