Go Tyme Grynd Launches Groundbreaking Program Empowering Formerly Incarcerated People to Transform Their Lives and Toledo Communities
Toledo, OH. (February 13, 2024) - Go Tyme Grynd, a beacon of hope and transformation, is proud to announce the launch of its Hood 2 Health Pro Program in collaboration with the Lucas County Commissioners Office. This pioneering initiative aims to empower formerly incarcerated and justice impacted individuals to earn fitness training certifications and build businesses tailored to uplift struggling communities and combat Toledo's crime rate and health crisis.
Go Tyme Grynd in partnership with the Safety + Justice Challenge Grant, mission is to change lives through fitness entrepreneurship opportunities that empower achievement. By providing these types of opportunities, not only can the fitness and wellness gap be closed, but the cycle of recidivism can end.
DeAndre Gaston, Founder of Go Tyme Grynd and an ISSA Certified Elite Fitness Trainer, shared his personal journey, stating, "At one time, I brought a lot of harm to my community. But after being incarcerated for 16 years, I was blessed with the opportunity to bring healing to it. A second chance saved my life and is enabling me to save others."
The Hood 2 Health Pro Program offers participants comprehensive fitness training and nutrition coaching certification, professional-grade promotional materials, access to fully equipped gym spaces, hands-on training, and career mentoring. Participants will design and lead free fitness programs for their communities, fostering wellness and resilience.
This transformative opportunity is open to justice-impacted individuals who desire a career in fitness, health, and wellness. The individuals must live in the following area zip codes (43604, 43606, 43607, 43608, or 43610). Interested individuals can apply by submitting a statement describing their involvement with the justice system, how this opportunity will impact their lives and allow them to impact their communities. Submissions can be sent via the contact form at www.GoTymeGrynd.com, email ([email protected]), or text (419-702-0509). Deadlines for submissions is February 24, 2024 11:59pm.
