Internationally Recognized Artist Shows Landscapes at Schedel Gardens
April 2 through June 13, 2024, Jennifer Sowders of Fostoria Ohio, will be exhibiting landscape paintings in a solo show held in the Brown Welcome Center's McAlear Gallery at Schedel Arboretum & Gardens in Elmore, OH.
Over 20 acrylic and watercolor pieces have been installed and a “Meet the Artist”
event will be held Sunday, April 7th from 2-4pm. Light apps, drinks and wine will be served at this free event where attendees are welcomed to enjoy the gardens at no additional fee.
Sowders most recent International Award was as a 2nd place winner in the Landscape Division of the Publication: Artists Magazine, in their 2024 40th Annual Art Competition.
Esteemed Landscape Juror, JOHN SALMINEN, had this to say about Jennifer’s painting:
“While the grandeur of nature is often portrayed in bold vistas, it can also be conveyed in a more intimate presentation. Brecksville Ridge draws us into the scene with intriguing texture and fleeting light and shadow. Rather than experiencing this scene from afar, we are immersed in it. We are transported from impartial observation to being present in the moment.”

The winning work: “Brecksville Ridge”, will be at the “Meet the Artist” reception for display, however is not a part of the Schedel show due to other engagements.
