Captain Scupper’s Crew Life Introduces Pre-teens to Great Lakes Shipping Careers
May 31, 2024 (Toledo, Ohio) – On Saturday, June 8, the National Museum of the Great Lakes welcomes back the program Captain Scupper’s Crew Life, presented by The Andersons. This unique event invites children aged 8-12 to join our junior Schoonmaker crew for an engaging and educational tour exploring the various jobs onboard a lake freighter.
"Captain Scupper’s Crew Life is a wonderful opportunity for children to dive into the world of Great Lakes shipping and discover the fascinating careers that keep this vital industry moving," said Ellen Kennedy, Director of Museum Operations at the National Museum of the Great Lakes. "We are thrilled to bring back this enriching experience this year.”
