Film Descriptions
Cradle of Astronauts
The Men. The Missions. The Machines. And The Artist.
"Cradle of Astronauts" showcases a painting created for the Ohio Statehouse by Bill Hinsch, an artist from rural Hicksville, Ohio. The film offers a unique exploration of Ohio's legendary astronauts, painting a portrait of the men, missions, and machines that defined an era. Hinsch’s artistic journey, set against the backdrop of NASA’s monumental efforts, reveals shared roots with the small-town heroes who pioneered humankind’s ventures into space. This 30-minute homage provides an endearing and insightful look at the triumphs and tribulations of Ohio’s astronauts and the artist who commemorated their legacy. One Small Visit
