Dave Carpenter Duo to Perform at Wednesday at Woodlands Lunchtime Concert Series
The Wednesday at Woodlands lunchtime concert series will continue on July 3 with a performance by The Dave Carpenter Duo from noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Woodlands Park shelter area, located at 429 E. Boundary Street, Perrysburg. This popular series will run every Wednesday through August. Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair; picnic tables are available for those who wish to enjoy their lunch while listening to the music.
Dave Carpenter, familiar to the regulars of the 2024 Wednesday at Woodlands concert series as the Main ART-ery host and concert manager, will be performing with Chris Zielinski. Both musicians are well-established in the local music scene, having played together since being introduced by a mutual friend in 2016. The duo blends the rich sounds of the upright bass and acoustic guitar, delivering a unique and engaging musical experience. Their program will feature acoustic renditions of popular songs, timeless classics, and what Carpenter describes as, “newer hits with tasty original music sprinkled in-music presented in a chilled, feel good, toes-in-the-sand type vibe.”
When not performing as a duo, Dave Carpenter is a solo artist known for his work as a singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He recently released a second album, Dave Carpenter Soundcheck, available on CD and all streaming platforms. Throughout his illustrious career, Carpenter has opened for renowned acts such as Joan Jett, and George Clinton. He is also the co-founder of the significant annual fundraiser event, ‘Acoustics for Autism’. Beyond his musical endeavors, Carpenter has been an educator for almost 30 years and currently teaches at Penta Career Center.
Chris Zielinski, an esteemed upright bass player, is a member of two bands, Polka FLoyd and the Screaming Heathers. Known for creating memorable music experiences. Zielinski also works for the renowned Reverend Guitar Company, which produces custom guitars and basses for nationally and internationally acclaimed musicians.
