Wednesday at Woodlands lunchtime Concert Series Presents Creole Jazz with Dave Kosmyna, Ray Heitger and Ragtime Rick

The Wednesday at Woodlands lunchtime concert series continues Wednesday, July 24 with a lively performance of Creole Jazz by the talented trio of Dave Kosmyna, Ray Heitger and Ragtime Rick.  The concert will take place from noon to 1 p.m. At the Woodlands Park shelter area, 429 E. Boundary Street.  Concert goers are encouraged to bring a chair or enjoy their lunch at one of the many picnic tables while enjoying the music.  

 

Dave Kosmyna will lead a vibrant Creole Jazz performance featuring two legends of Dixieland Jazz: Ray Heitger, and Ragtime Rick.  Ray Heitger, known for his exceptional clarinet skills, is the leader of the renowned Cake Walkin' Jass Band, famous for their performances at Tony Packo's.  Joining him  is the charismatic local pianist and entertainer, Ragtime Rick, a former pizza saloon proprietor and host of WCWA's "Saturday Morning Extravaganza".  Together with Dr. Dave Kosmyna, this trio promises a toe-tapping, invigorating, and fun performance filled with upbeat jazz, ragtime, and blues. 

 

Dr. Dave Kosmyna, who holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Trumpet Performance, is a faculty member at Ohio Northern University. He teaches trumpet, theory, and composition, and directs the Jazz Ensemble at the university. An active composer and arranger, Dr. Kosmyna's works are published by BVD Press and Pasticcio Music, and have been performed by brass ensembles across the country.
