Final Wednesday at Woodlands Concert of the Season: The Jay and Grace Duo
The Wednesday at Woodlands lunchtime concert series will conclude on a high note with a performance by The Jay and Grace Duo on Wednesday, August 28, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at Woodlands Park, 429 E. Boundary in Perrysburg.  This dynamic duo, featuring Johannes "J" Ronquillo and Grace Mauk, promises to deliver an absorbing blend of rock, pop, and jazz that will leave the audience wanting more. Bring a chair or enjoy your lunch at one of the picnic tables available as you soak in the last melodies of the season at Woodlands Park.
Johannes, known as "J," is a versatile freelance vocalist and electric/upright bassist currently based in Toledo, Ohio. Hailing from a father who is a famous musician in Manila, Philippines, J began his musical journey at the age of 12 when he picked up the electric bass. His passion for music led him to Toledo at 16, where he pursued and completed a Master of Music degree in Jazz Performance at the University of Toledo in 2016. Over the years, J has made his mark as a freelance musician, performing in Manila, Ohio, and beyond. In addition to his performances, J has served as an adjunct professor of digital sound design at the Asia Pacific College in Makati, Philippines, and continues to teach privately in the Toledo area. He is also a member of several bands, including Arctic Clam.
Grace Mauk, a talented pianist, earned her master's degree in collaborative piano performance from Eastern Michigan University. Although her classical piano studies began at a young age, Grace's true passion lies in rock and roll and pop music, with The Beatles holding a special place in her heart. Her diverse musical interests and expertise make her a perfect match for J's versatile bass playing, creating a unique and engaging sound that will resonate with audiences of all ages.
Thank you to the City of Perrysburg and the Norma Stark Memory Garden and Labyrinth for supporting this concert series with your generous funding.
