Maumee, OH – October 15, 2024 – Amity Ink, a body art studio situated in Uptown Maumee, is proud to celebrate five successful years of operation on November 29, 2024. This past February, Amity Ink expanded its business with the launch of Amity Piercing, a dedicated division centered around professional body piercing and fine quality jewelry. Alexia Shrout, the owner/lead piercer of Amity Piercing, recently received approval by the APP (Association of Professional Piercers) and is currently the only facility in the greater Toledo area with such a distinction. The official APP approval ensures that piercers operate within the highest standards of safety, sterilization, and quality.
To mark this milestone, Amity Ink is inviting the public of all ages, to join in the celebration on November 29th and 30th; offering exclusive deals, giveaways, and more. Details on the upcoming events and festivities to come as the holidays inch closer.
FROM UNCERTAINTY TO ACHIEVEMENT...
Just months after opening its doors in 2019, Amity Ink faced sudden adversity as the COVID-19 pandemic spread across the world. All body art facilities were forced to cease operations mandated by the State of Ohio for nearly three months. Yet through the resilience of the team and the unwavering support of the community, the Jaws-themed studio (yes, the 1975 blockbuster film) has since grown into a beloved Uptown Maumee fixture, situated among local linchpins like the Village Idiot, Sunshine Studios, and Maumee Valley Chocolate.
Scott Biddle, owner and chief artist, expressed gratitude for the studio’s continued success despite its challenges: "We’re perpetually stunned by the growing support and patronage of this community, and as a Maumee native, I'm proud to say that our distinct business has become a welcomed bright spot in 'America's Strongest City'.”
