Anthony Wayne Innovation and Design Offers Free ‘Intro to a Career in Tech’ Classes for Everyone: “Let’s Lift Everyone!”
Toledo, OH – 2025-03-24 – As downtown Toledo grows with the addition of two new housing developments, Anthony Wayne Innovation and Design (AWID) is making sure opportunity grows with it. AWID believes that everyone deserves access to the future, which is why its ‘Intro to a Career in Tech’ course is now free for anyone—whether they live in the new housing districts or anywhere else in Toledo.
Founder Michael Vanderpool put it simply: “Let’s lift everyone.”
This initiative ensures that Toledo’s growth isn’t just about new buildings – it’s about building up people, too. The free tech course, held at the Toledo Tech Loft, will introduce participants to career opportunities in software development, cybersecurity, IT support, digital marketing, and more. It will provide skill assessments, mentorship, and guidance on upskilling and job placement, helping individuals take their first step into the world of tech.

The real game-changer is access to high-paying, future-ready jobs,” said Vanderpool. “Toledo already has a great downtown scene, but we need to make sure people living here – and beyond – have the chance to thrive. Tech careers, especially remote work, can bring outside income into our city, strengthening our local economy. And that’s why we’re making this course free for everyone.”
