THE JUNIOR LEAGUE LAUNCHES “JUMP IN & JOIN” CAMPAIGN FOR NATIONAL VOLUNTEER MONTH
A Nationwide Effort to Foster Purpose, Build Connections, and Empower People to Make a Lasting Impact
TOLEDO, OH, April 11, 2025 – The Junior League of Toledo is excited to announce its participation in the “Jump In & Join” campaign, a nationwide initiative designed to create a sense of belonging and purpose through collective volunteerism.
Volunteering and community service has the potential to ease many of the myriad of current challenges that our community members face. In recognition of National Volunteer Month this April, the Junior League of Toledo invites community members to “jump in” with service organizations across the region and discover how volunteering can spark meaningful connections while making a powerful impact.
As US Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy wrote in his January 2025 My Parting Prescription for America, “community is a powerful source of life satisfaction and life expectancy, where we know each other and find purpose in contributing to other’s lives.”
“The decline of service institutions has made knowing where to go for community harder,” wrote Dr. Murthy. “At a time when so many people feel like they don’t matter, service also reminds us we have value we bring to the world.”
The Junior League of Toledo encourages people to consider joining service-based organizations to help fill that gap, to bring a sense of fulfillment in addition to improving the communities around them.
For high achievers, volunteering provides more than just the opportunity to give back—it offers the chance to leverage leadership skills, expand networks, and collaborate with others who share a passion for making a difference.
“Volunteering is an investment in yourself, your community, and your future,” The Junior League of Toledo President, Rachel Wasserman continues. “Through this campaign, we’re inviting individuals with a drive for success to join us, elevate their impact, and forge connections that will last a lifetime.”
