The Josh Project and SafeSplash SwimLabs Join Forces to Host Water Safety Day in Toledo
In a powerful partnership aimed at saving lives and promoting community awareness, The Josh Project and SafeSplash SwimLabs (Holland & Perrysburg locations) are hosting a Water Safety Day on May 10th from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at St. Francis de Sales School, located at 2323 W Bancroft St, Toledo, OH 43607.
This free, family-friendly event is dedicated to educating children, families, and community members about the importance of water safety. Through interactive activities, safety demonstrations, and resources from key local organizations, attendees will learn how to prevent drowning and enjoy water activities safely.
“We know that water safety education saves lives,” said Larry Butts, Executive Director of The Josh Project. “This day is about empowering families with the knowledge and skills they need to stay safe in and around water.”
The event will feature participation from several committed organizations, including:
- Ohio Department of Natural Resources
- Toledo Fire and Rescue Department
- Safe Kids Greater Toledo
- Coast Guard Auxiliary
- Wayman Palmer YMCA
- City of Toledo – Parks and Recreation
Highlights of the day will include swim safety tips, hands-on demonstrations, educational games, and chances to connect with local safety and health professionals.
The Josh Project, a Toledo-based nonprofit, has been a long-standing advocate for water safety, particularly among communities that are statistically at higher risk for drowning. By teaming up with SafeSplash SwimLabs, they aim to broaden their reach and bring essential water safety education to even more families in the Toledo area.
