Habitat for Humanity of Wood County Announces Women Build 2025
Empowering Women, Building Futures — May 2 & 3 in Bradner, Ohio
Wood County, OH — Habitat for Humanity of Wood County is excited to announce the return of Women Build, a hands-on volunteer event dedicated to empowering women and strengthening communities through affordable housing. This year’s Women Build will be held May 2 and 3, 2025 in Bradner, Ohio, and will be part of the Mike Cray Blitz Build, an ambitious effort to construct two homes simultaneously in less than 120 days.
Over two days, volunteers will help construct two sheds and install floor decking for homes being built for two local single mothers. The event invites women (and allies) to pick up tools, build with purpose, and be part of a life-changing effort. No construction experience is necessary—tools, personal protective equipment, and expert instruction are all provided.
“Women Build is more than just swinging a hammer,” said Sarai Shaneck, Resource Development at Habitat. “It’s about standing with other women, future homeowners, and the community to build homes—and hope.”
Four volunteer sessions are available:
-
Friday, May 2: 8:00–11:00 AM or 12:00–3:00 PM
-
Saturday, May 3: 8:00–11:00 AM or 12:00–3:00 PM
Registration is $50 and includes a volunteer spot, a Women Build t-shirt, snacks and beverages, and a special invitation to the future home dedication celebration.
