Formed in 2013, this genre-bending band has made a name for itself by reimagining popular music across decades—mixing the swing of a 1930s speakeasy with the pulse of a modern-day dance floor.
Driven by the tagline “a new take on classic, a classic take on new,” The New Fashioned is equal parts nostalgia and invention. Their sound draws from jazz, blues, rock, soul, folk, and pop—with influences that span from Louis Prima to Maroon 5, and the Allman Brothers to the Beatles. Whether it’s a smoky jazz club vibe or a Southern rock groove, they make every performance feel fresh, familiar, and distinctly their own.
Lead vocalist and pianist Jake Pilewski describes the band’s evolving direction:
"In the early days, we leaned into vintage songbook standards from the ‘30s to ‘50s. That gave us a solid foundation to explore deeper—into the soul, folk rock, and blues of the ‘60s and ‘70s. We’ve since built a wide-ranging catalog that stretches across a century of music. Our mission is to create an experience that connects generations—whether you’re tuned into the car radio, dropping quarters in a jukebox, or dancing under the stars."
