Show & Sale Adds Live Demonstrations of Jewelry Arts

Visitors to Treasures Unearthed can watch original jewelry being created by hand during live demonstrations at The Toledo Gem and Rockhound Club’s (TGRC) 54th annual rock, gem & jewelry show. The area’s oldest and biggest gem & jewelry showcase returns to Bowling Green, OH, from September 5 through 7, 2025, at the Wood County Fairgrounds Pratt Pavillion.

Live demonstrations of rock and jewelry arts will include:

  • Gemstone cutting and polishing
  • “Extreme Beading,” featuring exquisitely detailed bead work
  • Metal crafting of hand-wrought necklaces, bracelets and rings
  • Flint knapping of stone daggers, spear points and arrowheads

Show visitors will often be introduced to newly discovered, exotic crystals and minerals specimens. More than 30 vendors are registered, many offering rare, unique, often breath-takingly beautiful gems, specimens, jewelry and treasures from around the world.

Fun, educational activities are planned for families & youths:

  • “Cave of Secrets” ultra-violet experiments that reveal glowing, fluorescent stones
  • Hands-on creation of make-and-take gemstone & wire tree projects
  • Indoor rock & gem treasure hunt with prizes
  • Ohio Department of Natural Resources representatives
  • Cracking of crystal-filled stone geodes
  • Rock, fossil and mineral identification “What’s my Rock?”

 Treasures Unearthed will be open:

  • Friday September 5 from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM
  • Saturday September 6 from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM
  • Sunday September 7 from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM
