Wednesday at Woodlands Concert Series Brings Swing to Woodlands Park
The Wednesday at Woodlands lunch time concert series continues July 2 from 12–1 p.m. at Woodlands Park shelter area, 429 E. Boundary St., featuring a 7-piece band presenting high-energy favorites by Hepcat Revival. Guests are encouraged to bring lunch along with a chair or blanket, as picnic tables fill quickly.
Hepcat Revival is known for blending jump blues, swing, and jazz with charisma and style. Led by vocalist Greg Tye, whose rich voice and sharp wit drive the band’s vintage flair. He provided an overview of the concert which he states will feature “a variety of jump blues, jazz, and American classics—plus whatever requests are written on a $20 bill and thrown at the band” The latter part said with tongue in cheek.
The band has been together for more than 25 the top-tier musicians include Vince Krolak on trumpet, Stan George on sax, Tom Ritter on bass, Travis Knepper on drums, Ken Zuercher on guitar, and Pete Ford on keys. Together, they channel the spirit of legends like Louis Prima and Cab Calloway—guaranteed to make your lunch hour swing.
