This weekend, August 1st-3rd, aviation enthusiasts and families alike are invited to the Put-In-Bay Airport, located at 1494 Langram Rd., Put-In-Bay, Ohio, on South Bass Island to experience a living history flight experience aboard Liberty Aviation Museum's 1928 Ford Tri-Motor "City of Wichita" / "City of Port Clinton"! Living history flight experience rides will take place 9am-5pm, each day, offering passengers a chance to relive a key moment in aviation & local history.  Although, this Ford Tri-Motor never had a history of providing service to the Lake Erie Islands like many other Ford Tri-Motors did with Island Airlines, it does have a very significant role in Ohio and airline history!

The "City of Wichita"/"City of Port Clinton" 1928 Ford Tri-Motor known for its pioneering role in air travel, made history as one of two Ford Tri-Motors to operate the first ever air/rail transcontinental flight with Charles Lindbergh & Amelia Earhart pioneering that historic flight in July of 1929 at the Port Columbus Airport!  The Ford Tri-Motor was instrumental in establishing transcontinental routes across the United States, including those by the locally owned Island Airlines that operated until the early 1980s servicing the Lake Erie Islands year-round. With its distinctive corrugated aluminum body and art deco interior, this airplane provides a truly memorable experience for all ages.

Living history aircraft rides not only offer the thrill of flying but also a chance to connect with the rich history of aviation. The Ford Tri-Motor flights on Aug 1st-3rd, celebrate the pioneering spirit of air travel, making it the perfect flight to view historic landmarks, Lake Erie, and the islands from the air.

Living history aircraft ride pricing for adults is $99.00. Children 17 years and under is $75.00, and children under 2 years can sit on an adult’s lap for free. The Co-pilot seat, if available is $200.00, presales are not available for the co-pilot seat, upgrade on day of the event only.

Tickets and additional information can be found on our website at www.libertyaviationmuseum.org .  Tickets can also be purchased on site at the Put-in-Bay airport during the event.   Don’t miss out on this extraordinary opportunity to take to the skies and explore the legacy of this magnificent aircraft.  Even if you don't go for a ride, come out and see the aircraft!  There is no charge to come see the plane!
